Fortune Teller

I added everything to nothing
I pulled the ground out by its root
fortune teller, tell me something promising
before I give up totally and forfeit
cause everything is changing
in a way that I’m resisting
I try to turn it around, I try to turn it around
all I’ve ever wanted has come back to haunt me

I don’t know why but I believe you
I advance as I regress
fortune teller, I see my future balancing
between my destiny and my choices
cause everything is changing
in a way that I’m resisting
I try to turn it around, I try to turn it around
all I’ve ever wanted has come back to haunt me

so when they drop the final curtain softly shut your eyes
and imagine without thinking of life after you die
Lord, I don’t want to test you but I want you to let me know
if I could contest to you being someone that I know
cause all I’ve been taught to really know
turns to dust or turns to stone
